Oh gosh, its been more than a week since i last posted. This mission is failing badly, whats new.LOL. So i have been working on a few things lately which would be posted over the next couple of days, hopefully i would be motivated enough to post something. Alrighty, lets get started. Firstly, my girlfriend has been looking for a cheap cushion to be used as a back rest at work, having half foot into the "auntie world", there is a great difficulty in finding one that is cheap yet fluffy enough. As her birthday is approaching, i have decided to get her a cushion that is specially made for her. Therefore, after sourcing for a cheap and plain cushion, i got the $4.9 50x50cm cushion from IKEA. NExt i would need yarn from DIASO (cheapo option. Though Diaso yarns are not the cheapest they do have unique and pretty colours. If you are looking for acrylic yarns, spotlight offers a larger selection of colours and are heavier in the amount of yarn. However, if you're looking for wool yarns for small projects, diaso yarns are the more economical approach. As my girlfriend is obsessed with pink, i got these pretty mole yarn from diaso. They are from the same series as my bolster cover. super soft and smooth with the right thickness. They come in 40gs per roll, mekomeko mole yarn, the come in a series of colours which include the pink shown above, blue ( bolster), and green. The cat icon is the trademark of these yarn. You can purchase these yarns (subject to availablity) in 10 rolls per pack. Buying by the pack ensures that the yarns come from the same batch with no difference in colouration. For the pillow case i used around 7 rolls of yarn for 40 stitches with the 10mm needles. However this turn out too big in the the end so i had to sew in 4 stitches on each side, so if i would suggest casting on lesser stitches if like me you are going to use garter stitch as it would stretch. I did not count the number of rows, so do measure it from time to time for the right size. I did a 1 x1 garter stitch and after it has it reached the length needed for the pillow, i did a 2x2 garter stitch as a flap for the buttons. As Chinese New Year is approaching, coming up next would be the CNY snack series, woohoo. xoxo, deedee

After spending a couple of hours on my first knitting project it is finally completed. The yarn i use is Diaso's Mekomeko yarn which is super soft smooth. They come in a couple of colours which are all super pretty. For this project i used a total of 20 rolls of 40g yarn in rip stitch thou i think i have done it wrong. But is making my hubby ( the bolster) super pretty and soft now, like hugging a mini sully. Enough talking now for picture(snap a couple of messy shots cause i was too tired to function normally). xoxo, deedee
