Wow, it has been a long time since i've blogged haha. It has been more than a month since my birthday party, after which i went on a holiday and was swamp with work after my one month break thou it's not an excuse haha. Okay so i had my birthday party after my birthday as it was a more convenient date for my friends and it was my dear lizzie's bday the week before. I took about 2 months to get everything settled for my birthday as i was uncertain on having a party, but decided to have one in the end because how many 21st can i have. I would like to thank my friends who came for the party, family members and my parents for their support and contribution towards the party. As i didn't want to spend too much on a birthday party and not too little so i set my budget at $2000 max. So venue wise i choose my grandma's place function room as it was wide and clean plus point for cheap use of the place. I booked it for $50 and place a deposit of $200 which would be returned to me. After the venue is settled, I choose my theme and made my invitation cards. Of course, i had to mention that my fabulous friends arranged a photo shoot session for me with them being the photographers haha(shy) which is totally free. And got my invites done and printed. I saved a lot on my dress as it was done my grandma (hooray). As there was no entertainment for my party i decided to engage a Photo Booth service provider to entertain my guest and at the same time keep the photos for memory. I saw a deal on groupon for $388 but unfortunately they were unable to provide the service on the day i wanted. Groupon was also being difficult in the refunding process as well when the provider was willing to do a full refund, that was kind of a bummer. After sourcing and comparing the prices as well the availability, i have decided to engage booth berry as they were available on that day. i have decided not the unlimited prints as i would prefer to have each of my guest have a copy instead of having to decide who gets the photo for 3 hours it was priced at $700. Glad to say i was relatively happy with the results of the photos and the staff but they could be more helpful in getting the guest to try the Photo Booth in the beginning. 1 other thing to note is that you could stop the booth for 30 mins and be sure to extend that to 3.5 hrs if not it would be a waste. (photos below) For the buffet, I have decided to try meihao 99 not only cause they have a reasonable pricing, they were also recommended on many forums on their quality of food. Besides that, mummy dearest also cooked her signature chicken curry, porridge and ordered kueh pie tie from my favourite popiah stall yay. I decided to order the high tea set that includes the choice of 8 dishes from their menu. Party balloons are from WOW Let's party. They offer party balloon packages and other party essentials ( http://www.wowletsparty.com). You can always go down to their shop and speak with someone on the theme of your birthday. They many range of coloured balloons and the different style of big helium balloons. At the same time, you could also state your budget and they could help you work out a plan that is best for you. I would definitely suggest going down to the shop to select what balloons you want and the colour of the balloons. I went ahead with the birthday package B which includes the 18" helium balloon ( 21), 30 pearl coloured helium balloons and a arch. I have decided to go for 26 balloons instead of 30 and topped it up with blue polka dotted balloons to make the set up more cheerful and bright. As i was accidentally charged for the wrong package, I decided to exchange the arch to more balloon bundles instead. The delivery of the balloons were on time and they had ensured that the balloons were perfectly pumped before they left as well. PS: This blog post is filled with photos and I am not sponsored by anyone of the service providers. Preparation for the party Party Time After Party Well that concludes part 1 for now, part 2 will be the photos from the Photo Booth.
All photos in this post is taken by Eileen, thank you for volunteering to help me take photos.
