Yesterday was the 4th of Feb which is li chun before the chinese new year. According to traditions the things you do on this day would determine what would happen to you for the rest of the year. SO if you do owe someone money remember to repay your debt before the Chinese New Year starts. Every year during the chinese new year period, i would gather with my close friends for steamboat. 10 years and counting. girl school girls would always be noisy whenever we gather, its like the energy spreads. Alrighty, back to the CNY Posts. I have been busy making new year cookies and Kueh lapis for friends and family members. That has taken up so much time and effort that my body aches all over everywhere. Inspired by the post 6 easy air fried CNY goodies (http://eckitchensg.com/2016/01/6-easy-air-fried-chinese-new-year-goodies/). I have decided to put the air fryer to the test. So far, the air fryer has not disappointed me with finger food. The fryer that i currently own is the myers air fryer, thou not as popular and good as the philips air fryer, it does its job. SO based on the recipe from the article i have made 4 of these snacks. 1: air fried crabsticks 2: air fried popiah roll 3: air fried seaweed popiah snack 4: air fried pork rind Alrighty, for the crab sticks i actually experimented with different types and brands of crabstick and found that the dodo crabstick works the best. SO the only thing about making these crabsticks are to peel these into strips which is a little time consuming. A packet of these is enough to fill a chips bottle for me. You can always spice up your crab sticks either by adding truffle oil or other seasonings. For me i added a little sesame oil and sesame seeds to mix in place of the olive oil mentioned in the recipe. okay thats it for now,
