Finally, I am free from school and all the other work whatsoever.... I have been wanting to go to Perth for a while now, since its a location that is visited by many Singaporeans yearly, also, my friends are studying over there while im in Queensland.I was actually planning to go alone but Heather decided to join me since she has delayed her grad applications. We were also both looking for a time away after the hectic year we've had. With all assignments and placement done, why not take a break ! Therefore, I took the opportunity when Tiger airlines was having a sale for domestic flights, the usual cost of flying to Perth from Brissy is about $330-400, but with the sale, i managed to get return air tickets at $360, what a deal! Of course, it doesn't come with baggage, but, we bought insurance just in case. So begins the planning for our trip, its a 7 day trip with a lot of ground to cover since its our first time visiting Perth. We were also not early risers to be honest and the Australian opening hours didnt really fit well with us, by the time we are up and ready its already noon for most of the days haha. DAY 1
Heather's brother was kind enough to drop us off at the airport before our flight check-in, though she did the driving there..... After check in, we had a minor drama because Heather lost her boarding pass. But we still headed for the food section first because we were starving. Heather was all ready for bed with her pillow and her sleep mask, while i watch read a novel off the tablet. The flight from Brissy to Perth is approximately 5 hours, but our flight was flying an hour extra plus taking note that Perth is 2hours behind Brissy, by the time we reach it was already 11pm in Perth. So we uber-ed to our booked airbnb in east perth city. I choose this location as it was easy for us to get to the car rental company. The first impression on Perth was that everything was so clean and organised unlike in the Gold Coast. There was even designated spots for Uber pick ups from the airport which i didnt know of. If you are looking to stay in the city and didnt want to drive for the day from the airport, uber is a good option. Our trip from the airport to the airbnb house was only $28, much cheaper than taking a taxi. Thats all for day 1, we basically just spent the day travelling. xoxo, Dee Perth Posts
